Compact Valve Maintenance Skid

Wachs Compact VMS is our single turner Valve Maintenance Skid. Equipped with Wachs 750 Ft/lb (1020 Nm) Extended Reach Valve operator, telescoping valve key and Wachs ruggedized HC-100 with GPS controller/datalogger. The powerful engine (gas or diesel) with hydraulic pump provides ample power for all contained functions, including an auxiliary HTMA Class II circuit, 10 gallon (38 L) reservoir, fan cooled heat exchanger, continuous duty rated for 8 GPM (30.3 LPM) @ 1,800 PSI (125 bar) and steel storage bin.

Service Body Valve Maintenance Skid VMS, Diesel

Wachs Service Body VMS Valve Maintenance Skid is used in conjunction with the custom Knapheide service body. Assembled by Wachs and shipped direct to Knapheide, it is upfitted following installation of the custom service body to your furnished chassis cab. To begin, order your cab chassis fleet vehicle with a minimum rating of 19,500 GVRW, and a cab to axle length of 84 inches. When specifying your vehicle, a 220 amp alternator is the minimum requirement to operate the custom service body's included power invertor. To run the invertor to its full capacity, a high capacity 300 amp or dual alternator arrangement is highly recommended. Upfitter switches and an in-cab reverse camera are also vehicle requirements. The Service Body VMS Skid, Diesel is equipped with a long lasting Kubota 4 stoke diesel, matching the choice of engine in the chassis cab. It draws its fuel supply from the truck, eliminating the need for separate fueling of the SB Skid's diesel engine. Like our other skid platforms, all Wachs valve maintenance components such as the vac system, water supply, spoils tank and HPU come preinstalled and prewired to a steel skid, ready to bolt down to the custom service body, complete with all mechanical, fluid and electrical connections to the truck chassis cab. The Service Body Skid can be optioned with a wide range of valve exercising machines, vacuum systems with powered spoils tanks, hot water systems and more. It helps prevent underground damage, while offering a more accurate way to excavate soil and locate underground utilities. Ideal for valve box cleaning and excavation, the Trav-L-Vac 300 handles solid and liquid debris safely and quickly. It is available as either a compact trailer for towing to job sites with your choice of ball coupler or Pintle hook, or as a skid mount model ready to bolt down for operation from small flatbed trucks. Lightweight, the trailer can be easily pulled by light duty pickup trucks. Featuring a powerful 20 horsepower gasoline engine, it comes complete with a 90 gallon spoils tank with manual discharge, a heavy duty positive displacement blower that can generate 345 CFM at 14in Hg, and triple filtration. In short, it’s all the vac unit you’ll need for ordinary day to day tasks. Combined with a Wachs P-2 handheld exerciser, the Trav-L-Vac 300 is a good starting point for smaller organizations and municipalities looking to self-perform their valve maintenance activities.

Wachs Hydro-Vac Trailer is a safe, non-destructive and cost-effective machine for precise utility excavation that requires less backfill and restoration. The Hydro-Vac trailer prevents underground damage, while offering a more accurate way to excavate soil and locate underground utilities. Powered by a long lasting Kubota 4 stoke diesel, the trailer comes with a Pintle hook for connection to a medium duty pickup or larger truck. Built off Wachs Standard Builder Trailer platform, it can be configured just the way you want it, built exactly to fit your needs and budget. Its future upgrade path means you can order what you need today, knowing that you can upgrade the trailer tomorrow. The Standard Builder allows for an ala carte selection of our standard valve maintenance modules to be installed onto our heavy duty trailer. The Builder platform’s upgrade path offers maximum versatility – for example, configure a Hydro-Vac trailer with hydraulics today, add a ERV-750 Valve Exerciser later. A step up in power, capacity and size from the smaller Trav-L-Vac 300, the Hydro-Vac trailer includes a powerful vacuum that generates 500 CFM at 11in Hg. It includes a large, 250 gallon spoils tank that features our exclusive hydraulic powered slide, tilt, and dump system with power latching door, here in a rear dump configuration. This power spoils tank features a twin cylinder, electric over hydraulic dump system that incorporates a slide and tilt system that moves the tank out before tilting to clear for dumping, then lifts to 55 degrees to discharge debris. Also driven from the common power train is a 2.5 gpm @ 3000 psi pressure washer system with 3 gallon anti-freeze tank and 95 gallon vertical water tank. Includes 2-1/2in, 1-1/4in & 7/8” suction wands, short & long wash-down guns, 20ft suction hose and 50ft retractable hose reel.
